Welcome to the Jesus Culture Encounter 2009 website. Whether this is your first conference with us or you've joined us for past events, this site should answer your questions and give you an understanding of what our conferences are all about.
Jesus Culture Encounter is two days of passionately pursuing God and positioning ourselves for a "God encounter." Our pastor, Bill Johnson, says, "We owe the world an encounter with God." The only way we are going to be people who bring the world an encounter with God is if we are consistently encountering Him ourselves. We can only give away what we have. Our heart is to create an environment for youth and young adults to encounter God through passionate worship, anointed preaching, practical teaching, and supernatural ministry.
Because of the growth of the Jesus Culture conferences, we have moved our location from Bethel Church to the Redding Convention Center. However, even still we have outgrown that. This year we have a whole new concept, ONE CONFERENCE, TWO CAMPUSES.

Every year at Jesus Culture Encounter we run into the same problem, NOT ENOUGH ROOM. Last year we tried to run a satellite feed, but it didn't give us the results we wanted, so we axed that whole idea. This year we came up with a whole new concept- 1 Conference, 2 Campuses. Great idea, eh? The way it will work is there will be Campus-A at the Redding Convention Center, and then there will be Campus-B at Bethel Church. We have adjusted the schedule to have the same Speakers and Worship Leaders at both campuses, with alternating time slots. We know this will give opportunity for "encounters" at both campuses.

Lou Engle is the visionary and co-founder of TheCall solemn assemblies (www.TheCall.com), a movement of prayer gathering young adults to pray and fast for breakthrough and revival. TheCall began in Washington, DC in 2000 gathering over 400,000 people to pray and fast for the United States. Since 2000, The Call has gathered hundreds of thousands of people to pray both national and internationally. After a few years of dormancy, TheCall was revived on 07.07.07 with over 70,000 people gathering for TheCall Nashville.
Lou Engle's heart passion is to call young adults into a lifestyle of radical prayer, fasting, and holiness. In 2004, Lou planted the first Justice House of Prayer in Washington, DC to contend with the injustice of abortion and to pray for righteous leaders to be raised up in America. Since then, JHOPs have emerged in San Francisco, Boston, New York, and San Diego.
Banning & SeaJay Liebscher are on staff at Bethel Church in Redding, California as the lead pastors of Awakening Youth Movement, a passionate group of young people from Jr. High through Young Adults, who are impacting their city through prayer and signs and wonders. Banning is also the director of Jesus Culture, a ministry dedicated to mobilizing, equipping, activating, and sending a new breed of revivalists all over the world. Jesus Culture holds conferences around the world where youth and young adults can encounter God, be trained and equipped in the realm of the supernatural, and sent into their city to minister in power.

kim walker - Kim Walker is a joyful, radical lover of Jesus! She lives to worship Him with every ounce of her being. One of the greatest desires of her heart is to see God's kingdom and power manifest for people to be set free, healed, and radically changed as they encounter God in worship. Kim currently leads worship and pastors the worship team at Bethel Church in Redding, California. She has quickly become one of the strongest voices for the current youth revival. She is a passionate worship leader with an anointing to bring an entire generation into an encounter with God. 
chris quilala - Chris Quilala has been a featured worship leader at Jesus Culture Youth Conferences for years. As well as leading for the youth conferences, Chris has led worship for Bethel Church and the youth. He is a talented and anointed worship leader with a love for the presence and power of God. 
melissa how - Melissa How is a regular at Jesus Culture Youth Conferences. Along with leading at the conferences, Melissa is the Worship Leader for Awakening Youth Movement at Bethel Church where she leads worship and oversees the development of youth worship teams. Her passion is to not only see young people enter in to the presence of God through worship but to see an entire generation answer the call to live a life of worship. 
kristene mueller - Since she was 18 years old, Kristene Mueller has been an active part of the prayer movement . She spent 6 months in an intern ship for IHOP KC, singing on the night watch teams and spending time in the prayer room. Shortly there after, she joined up with a group of young people, led by Lou Engle, and helped start the Justice House of Prayer in Washington DC. This is where her heart started to connect deeply to the heart of God. She gave herself to leading worship there for 10 months until in the fall of 2005, when Lou sent out a team of 8, led by his son Jesse, to start another JHOP in the heart of San Francisco. Kristene Spent 3 years living on Haight street praying and worshiping over the city and ministering to the heart of God. 
jake hamilton - Jake's passion is to raise up a generation in revival, where the impossible is possible and we learn to tarry for the promises of God to be made manifest on earth. His powerful worship brings intimacy and breaks chains as he passionately draws people into the throne room of heaven where the King of Glory dwells with all the provisions of heaven. He has seen the power of the cross for salvation, healing, and deliverance as people have come into their right identity in Christ and begin to see the depth of love God has for them.
